Seven different players scored at least one goal for the Flyers, led by Bill Barber who registered three goals. Other multiple-goal scorers were Reggie Leach (2G) and Orest Kindrachuk (2G). Leach (2G,3A) and Bobby Clarke (5A) each posted five points in the game.
Clarke's five assists set a new team record for most assists in a game by a player.
Leach's second goal of the game at 10:06 of the second period was his 60th of the season. He became only the second player in NHL history to record at least 60 goals in a regular season, joining Phil Esposito as the only players to reach that plateau.
The Flyers set team records for most shots in a period with 25 during the second period and for most shots in a game with 62. Both records still stand today.
