March 17, 1987...Tim Kerr Leads Flyers To Win Over Rangers
![]() |
| Tim Kerr |
Tim Kerr scored the first two goals of the game to give the Flyers a 2-0 first-period lead, which the team turned into the 4-1 win.
The first of Kerr's two goals was his 50th goal of the season. With the goal, Kerr became the first, and only Flyer, to post four consecutive 50-goal seasons.
Only six players in NHL history have recorded more consecutive 50-goal seasons than Kerr (Mike Bossy - 9, Wayne Gretzky - 8, Guy Lafleur - 6, Phil Esposito - 5, Marcel Dionne - 5 and Brett Hull - 5).
