March 6, 1986...Flyers Defeat Toronto, 7-4
| Mark Howe |
The Flyers trailed 2-1 after the first period. Two second-period goals by Mark Howe and a goal by Tim Kerr gave the Flyers a 4-3 lead as the game entered the second intermission.
Toronto's Walt Poddubny scored an early third-period goal to tie the game at 4-4, but the Flyers responded with the final three goals of the game to make the final score, 7-4.
In addition to Howe and Kerr, Ron Sutter, Lindsay Carson (2) and Ilkka Sinisalo each scored at least a goal for the Flyers.
Howe led the Flyers with six points in the contest (2G,4A). Howe's 22 goals and 68 points set new team records for most goals and most points by a defenseman in a season. He would finish the season with 24 goals and 82 points, both marks still stand as team records.
