February 4, 1999...Dan McGillis Has Career Game
On this date in 1999, the Flyers defeated the Montreal Canadiens at the First Union Center, 5-2. The win was part of an eventual eight-game undefeated streak (6-0-2) and part of a stretch which saw the Flyers lose only once in 24 games (16-1-7).
The Flyers turned a slim 2-1 third-period lead into a 5-2 win with three straight third-period goals. Mikael Renberg, Valeri Zelepukin and John LeClair each scored a third-period goal. Eric Lindros (1G,2A), LeClair (2G,1A) and defenseman Dan McGillis (3A) each posted three points in the contest. For McGillis, his three assists were a new single game career high.
