(Philadelphia, PA) - Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren on Monday updated the team's injury list.

FlyersTV: Holmgren updates injuries

"[Joffrey Lupul] has an abdominal pull, so he is probably out for at least 14 days. Right now, he is on I.R. (Injured Reserve).

"Simon [Gagne] is actually doing better. We'll still say he's day-to-day, but we're kind of hoping he'll play tomorrow.

"Arron Asham is getting better. The MRI he had done showed fairly normal issues, and we'll see how he is tomorrow. He's day-to-day, and we're hoping that he plays tomorrow or the next game.

"Darroll [Powe], right now, we're dealing with a little bit of a hip issue with him. We're not sure it's severe, so we're going to say day-to-day on him. He's probably [not a possibility] tomorrow.

"Claude [Giroux] has a mild concussion, and is day-to-day. He's still feeling a little iffy.

"We're kind of hoping [Josh] Gratton can play tomorrow. He's got kind of a stomach issue too, but we're hoping he can play tomorrow.

"Jon [Kalinski] is actually in the hospital. He had to have surgery on his thigh yesterday because of a contusion on his thigh that we couldn't get the swelling down. They had to go in and get the blood out of there. So, he's lying in a hospital with an open wound, letting it drain. We just have to see how it goes, but it's going to be significant time. Probably a couple weeks.

"[Antero] Niittymaki actually feels a little bit better today, but we're still probably looking at a week to 10 days before he's able to play."

Danny Briere also spoke to the media on Monday, and said that he may be a week or two away from returning to game action. Briere has missed the last 14 games with a groin strain.

Forward Andreas Nodl and goaltender Scott Munroe were recalled from the Phantoms.
