The 2007 NHL Entry Draft takes place on June 22 and 23 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Overview:
Jonathon Blum is an American-born defenseman and is considered to be one of the top offensive-minded blueliners entering this year's draft. Central Scouting has him listed as the 17th highest skater among North Americans.

Blum's strengths include his mobility, puck skills, and instinctive style. He has displayed tremendous toughness and tenacity throughout his career, and is always willing and able to throw a hard hit, which usually sends opponents to the ice. He helped the Vancouver Giants win a WHL Championship in 2006 and this year he received the 2007 WHL Plus-Minus Award.

One area of concern for teams looking at the Irvine, California native is his size. Blum is listed at just 160 pounds, and has had trouble putting on weight during his career.
