1. COMING INTO TODAY

The Flyers look for two straight wins after a 4-2 victory over Toronto on Friday… They also look to close out the month of March with their best record of any month this season, owning a 9-3-1 record for 19 points (they went 9-4-2 for 20 points in November)… The Flyers own the third most home wins in the Eastern Conference (23), are 13-4-1 since Feb. 1 and own a 10-3-0 record in their last 13 games at the Wells Fargo Center… The Flyers are 9-3-2 and have won six straight games in start times of 3 pm or earlier, while the Bruins own an 11-2-1 mark in afternoon contests this season… The Bruins have earned at least a point in 15 consecutive games, going 14-0-1 since Mar. 2 and are currently on a seven-game road winning streak, out-scoring their opponent, 33-15 in that span… Since the New Year began, the Bruins have gone 25-5-4 in 34 games.

2. THE MATCH-UP

This is the second of three match-ups against the Bruins and second on home ice for the Flyers, who will play the Bruins again in less than a week (Sat. Apr. 5 at Boston)… Prior to the start of this season, the Flyers won two in a row vs. Boston, but dropped their first game, 6-1 on Jan. 25… The Bruins own a 5-2-0 record in their last seven games vs. the Flyers and are 10-3-1 in their last 14 games… At Philadelphia, Boston owns a 10-2-1 mark in their last 13 games… The Bruins are one of two NHL teams (Montreal Canadiens) that the Flyers currently own an all-time losing mark at 65-87-21-8, and are the only NHL team in which the Flyers own a losing mark on home ice (37-40-10-3).

Today marks the top two teams in the NHL in third-period scoring - the Bruins lead the NHL with 96 and the Flyers rank second with 84 third-period goals… The Flyers have now won 11 straight games when they have scored a power-play goal… The Flyers have also killed off 16 consecutive penalties over the last four games, and have only allowed one goal on the penalty kill in their last 10 games, going 36-for-37… Former Flyers defenseman Andrej Meszaros returns to Philadelphia for the first time since being dealt at the trade deadline on Mar. 5 - he has four points (1g-3a) in eight games played with Boston… Should he get the start, Bruins (G) Tuukka Rask will be looking for his 100th career victory in the NHL… The Bruins have scored the first goal in 45 of their 74 games this season, going 39-5-1 when doing so, and have also led after the second period in 41 of their 74 games, going 39-2-0.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Claude Giroux (C: 28)

The Flyers captain now ranks third overall in the NHL in scoring with 78 points, three behind Anaheim's Ryan Getzlaf, and fourth overall with 53 assists… Giroux leads the NHL in scoring for the month of March with 15 assist and 21 points in 13 games… He has recorded at least a point in 11 of 13 games during the month, including seven multi-point games… He continues to lead all NHL players in scoring with 58 points and tied for the lead with 38 assists… The Flyers are 19-2-1 this season when he scores a goal and are 32-13-3 when he records at least one point… Against the Bruins, Giroux posted the only Flyers goal this year and has 11 points (3g-8a) in 19 career games.

5. Player to watch BRUINS: Patrice Bergeron (C: 37)

Bergeron is riding a seven-game point streak and a six-game goal-scoring streak for the Bruins, posting seven goals and eight points in the seven-game span… His six-game goal streak is tied for fourth in Bruins history and longest since Phil Kessel was a member of the Bruins in the 2008-09 season… Bergeron leads the Bruins in the month of March with 17 points (10g-7a), 11 points on the road… He ranks second on the Bruins in goals (26) and third overall on the team in points (55)… Including a goal in their last meeting on Jan. 25, Bergeron has 22 points (9g-13a) in 31 career games against the Flyers.
