Matt Read to miss his first game of the season due to injury

Wednesday, 11.27.2013 / 6:50 PM Philadelphia Flyers

Just as warm-ups began in Tampa, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren gave an injury update.

Right wing Matt Read will miss tonight's game with a lower-body injury and is listed as day-to-day. This is Read's first missed game of the season.

In 23 games thus far, Read is tied for the team lead with eight goals and ranks second on the team in shots (60). He has 11 points on the year, seven of which have come in the month of November.

He is coming off back-to-back two-goal games on Nov. 21 and Nov. 23 after going scoreless at Florida on Monday night.

The Flyers, for the most part, have been healthy this season with 10 players on the active roster having appeared in all 24 games, including tonight at Tampa Bay.
