1. BATTLEGROUND STATE

This is the first of five meetings between the Flyers and Penguins this season, making the Pens one of just two teams (Washington), the Flyers will play five times this year… The road team has won eight of the previous 12 meetings between the two teams… The Flyers went 1-2-1 against the Pens last season, but dropped both contests at home… In the four-game season series, the team's combined for 27 goals (FLYERS-12, PENGUINS-15)… Jakub Voracek had five goals and six points in the four-game season series last year against Pittsburgh… All-time, the Flyers have 142 victories against the Penguins, owning a 142-84-30-8 mark and 92-28-8-4 in Philadelphia.

The Penguins have scored at least three goals in every game so far this season… Pittsburgh also comes in with the NHL's best power play at 35.3% (6-for-17)… Marc-Andre Fleury has a five-game win streak to begin the season - his second-longest winning streak to open the season… Former Flyer Harry Zolnierczyk was recalled by the Penguins earlier this week and could be in the lineup against the Flyers tonight… Claude Giroux has averaged 22:04 ice time per game, which ranks fourth among NHL forwards… Giroux has 20 career points (9g-11a) in 23 games against the Pens.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Tye McGinn - (RW) #15

Since his recall on Sept. 12, McGinn has posted three goals in his two games with the club, including his first career two-point game on Tuesday vs. Vancouver… McGinn plays alongside Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek, who have combined for four points (each have a pair of assists) since McGinn's recall… This will be McGinn's first game against the Penguins in his career.

5. Player to watch PENGUINS: Sidney Crosby - (C) #87

Crosby leads the NHL in scoring and averages two points per game with 12 points (5g-7a) in six games so far this season… Crosby has recorded at least a point in every game this season and has a combined seven points (3g-4a) in his last two games… Against the Flyers, Crosby had five points (1g-4a) in four games last season and all-time he averages at least an assist per game (43) with a total of 71 points (28g-43a) in 43 games against the Flyers.
