GAME PREVIEW

1. THE LEAFS… AGAIN

The Flyers will face the Leafs again after suffering a 4-3 defeat last night in their preseason opener in London, Ont… Tonight also marks the fourth straight preseason that the Flyers have faced the Maple Leafs in a home-and-home series - In the last two preseasons, the team's have traded victories, while the 2009 preseason saw Toronto sweep the two meetings… Of the seven meetings, four have been decided by one goal… Overall, the Flyers have a 1-3-3 record in the preseason against Toronto in that span.

2. THREE GAMES IN TWO DAYS

Tonight also marks the first "split squad" game for the Flyers as another group will host the Washington Capitals at the Wells Fargo Center… Among the group to see in Philadelphia are newly acquired forwards Vinny Lecavalier, defenseman Mark Streit and goaltender Ray Emery… Also, Flyers fans might get a look at the team's first round draft pick, defenseman Sam Morin and free agent acquisition Michael Raffl on the wing… Tonight is the first time since 2008 that the Flyers will face off against the Capitals in the preseason.

3. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER

Since the 2007 preseason, the Flyers have only dropped their first two games on one occasion, the 2009 preseason… Zac Rinaldo left last night's game in London and did not play in the third period due to an upper-body injury… Of the 10 preseason games played in the NHL so far, seven have been decided by one goal and five have gone past regulation play.

4a. Player to watch FLYERS (vs. Washington): Vinny Lecavalier - (C) #40

Flyers fans will get their first chance to see the team's prized free-agent acquisition from the summer as Lecavalier will be in action for the first time for the Flyers… It will also be Lecavalier's first time wearing a different NHL sweater after playing 14 years with the Tampa Bay Lightning, a team he played over 1,000 games with and scored 343 goals and 847 points for and won a Stanley Cup Championship in 2004.

4b. Player to watch FLYERS: Nick Cousins (at Toronto) - (C) #52

The Flyers rookie had an impressive debut to his preseason after posting a goal and an assist in the team's 4-3 loss to the Leafs last night in London, Ont… Cousins comes into Flyers camp after another career year with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League where he posted 76 assists and 103 points in 64 regular season games and added another six points (3g-3a) in six playoff games… Cousins finished last season appearing in seven games for the Flyers' AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms.

5a. Player to watch CAPITALS: Andre Burakovsky - (LW) #65

Burakovsky was the Caps first round draft pick this season, taken 23rd overall out of the Swedish Elite League where he posted 11 points (4g-7a) in 43 games as an 18-year-old, including three points (1g-2a) in three postseason games for the Malmo Redhawks.

5b. Player to watch MAPLE LEAFS: Mason Raymond - (LW) #12

Raymond posted a goal and an assist in the Leafs first preseason game against the Flyers… He came into training camp with the Maple Leafs on a Professional Try-Out agreement after spending parts of five seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, the only NHL team he has played with in his career… He recorded 80 goals and 98 assists in 374 regular season games and is a veteran of 55 Stanley Cup Playoff games, which included a trip to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011.
