Philadelphia, PA – May 14, 2013 – The inaugural Philadelphia Amateur Hockey Combine, featuring top youth hockey players will take place from July 30 through August 1 at the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone.

“The first of its kind on the East Coast, the Philadelphia Hockey Combine will serve as a local opportunity for youth players to learn skills from NHL players, take part in combine tests and gain exposure to college scouts,” said Comcast Spectacor President Peter Luukko. “This combine is evidence of the tremendous growth of hockey in Philadelphia.”

Led by NHL alumni and coaches including Todd Fedoruk, Derian Hatcher, Ian Laperriere, Jeremy Roenick and Robert Esche, players ages 13 – 19 will take part in the three-day combine that will include on-ice and off-ice testing, practices and 60-minute games. Professional and college scouts will be in attendance to take a comprehensive look at each player.

The combine will consist of elite AA and AAA-level players only. A screening committee will review all applications to take part in a Futures Division (ages 13 – 15) which includes two teams of 18 players and a Junior Division (ages 16 – 19) which includes four teams of 18 players.

Interested players are encouraged to complete an online application at PhiladelphiaFlyers.com/combine. The cost is $300 per player, which includes 11 hours of ice time, jersey, socks, workout shorts, lunch each day and transportation for off-ice testing.
