Adirondack Phantoms (9-12-0-0: NHL - Philadelphia Flyers)
Syracuse Crunch (14-5-1-1: NHL - Tampa Bay Lightning)
1. CRUNCH TIME
With a 3-1 loss at Rochester last night, the Phantoms winless skid hit four-straight games, their first of the season… This is the fourth of eight total meetings on the year and second on home ice against the Crunch… The Phantoms own a 1-2-0-0 mark so far, winning their only game in overtime at Syracuse on Oct. 28.
2. SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS!
The Phantoms winless skid certainly hasn't been for lack of effort… The club has fired off 40+ shots in each of their last three games (42 at Rochester, 46 vs. Albany, 49 vs. Binghamton)… Of their 137 shots in the last three, 58 have come in the second period (42.8 percent), including a season high 25 in last night's loss.
3. THE ONLY AHL TEAM THAT…
Adirondack is the only team in the AHL that has yet to have a game decided by a shootout this season… In fact, they have had only one of their 22 games go past regulation play (a 4-3 win at Syracuse on Oct. 28)… Last season the Phantoms had five games decided by a shootout, going 3-2.
4. Player to watch PHANTOMS: Brayden Schenn
The Phantoms leading scorer is in his longest scoring drought of the season, going four straight games without a point, the longest of his AHL career… Schenn likes playing against the Crunch however, recording six points (2G-4A) in just three games this season… Despite the point skid, Schenn still ranks eighth overall in the AHL in scoring with 22 points (9G-13A).
5. Player to watch CRUNCH: Tyler Johnson
Johnson is the AHL's leading goal scorer with 15 tallies through 21 games… He also leads the Crunch in scoring with 25 points, which also ranks third overall in the AHL… He has points in three straight games (4pts, 2G-2A) and has recorded at least a point in nine of his last 10 games (13pts, 7G-6A)… Johnson has three points (1G-2A) in three games against Adirondack this year.
